TransAct’s support of HHS’s culinary competition reflects a shared commitment to empowering chefs, strengthening food safety and driving consistent kitchen execution
HAMDEN, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 13, 2026-- TransAct Technologies Incorporated (Nasdaq: TACT) supported the 2026 HHS Chef Showdown, bringing its partnership with HHS beyond daily kitchen operations to celebrate the chefs who bring food safety, operational excellence and culinary creativity to life.
Held September 16–17, the two-day HHS competition brought chefs together to showcase their skills, share the stories behind their dishes and demonstrate the teamwork required to deliver exceptional foodservice experiences. TransAct sponsored the event, contributed judges for the opening rounds and provided prizes for contestants. HHS clients and prospective customers served as judges in the final competition.
The collaboration reflects a partnership built around a shared priority: helping frontline teams succeed. As a BOHA!® by TransAct customer, HHS works closely with TransAct to support standardized back-of-house processes, reinforce food-safety practices and simplify daily kitchen responsibilities. Together, the companies combine HHS’s foodservice expertise with TransAct’s purpose-built technology to help teams deliver consistent execution across locations.
“The Chef Showdown is a celebration of the creativity our chefs bring to the table every day. It’s an opportunity to explore new flavors and ideas, learn from one another, and recognize the talent across our culinary teams,” said Amanda-May Smith, HHS Culinary and Nutrition Services President. “Seeing what our chefs create and the pride they bring to their work is what makes this event so special.”
That connection came through in a celebratory moment captured by TransAct at the event: the winning chef gave BOHA! by TransAct an enthusiastic shout-out, sharing his appreciation for the technology.
“BOHA!’s advantage is how our apps work together to help kitchen teams move faster, operate more efficiently and strengthen food safety,” said Dana Loof, CMO of TransAct Technologies. “By connecting labeling, checklists, timers and temperature management in one unified platform, we help teams spend less time switching between systems and more time executing consistently. Our partnership with HHS brings that value into kitchens every day. Supporting the Chef Showdown celebrated the chefs behind those operations—and hearing the winner call BOHA! a game changer brought that value to life.”
Beyond the competition, the Chef Showdown demonstrated HHS’s commitment to recognizing employees, developing talent and creating opportunities for teams to learn, connect and take pride in their work. TransAct’s participation reinforced the companies’ shared belief that operational excellence depends on both capable technology and well-supported people.
TransAct congratulates all participating chefs and thanks HHS for its continued partnership in advancing food safety, kitchen consistency and employee success.
