If a warranty printer is sent in for repair and the repair center cannot find any defect; there will be a $37.50 fee plus shipping costs applied to the repair.

TransAct Technologies Conflict Minerals Policy Statement

As a socially responsible company, TransAct Technologies is concerned for the well-being of people and communities. We conduct business fairly and ethically, respect human rights, comply with laws and regulations, and follow a rigorous Code of Conduct.

In August 2012, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the final rule regarding the sourcing of conflict minerals as defined in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, Section 1502. Under this rule, publicly traded companies must report annually to the SEC the presence of “conflict minerals” originating from Central Africa in either the products they manufacture or contract to manufacture, or use in the production process. Conflict minerals are defined as tin, tungsten, tantalum and gold that are mined in Central Africa (the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and nine adjoining countries: Republic of Congo, Central Africa Republic, South Sudan, Zambia, Angola, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda).

TransAct will file the necessary documentation prior to the regulation deadlines. We have initiated a process that meets the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) framework to comply with this regulation. This includes establishing compliance requirements for our direct suppliers regarding conflict minerals, implementing controls and reporting, undertaking appropriate sourcing efforts, and providing our customers the data necessary to facilitate their SEC reporting.

TransAct will align its efforts to the practices established by industry peers – including the Electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) – to enable companies to source conflict-free minerals.

Expectations for Suppliers:
In support of TransAct’s policy on conflict minerals, suppliers are expected to supply materials to TransAct that are “DRC Conflict-Free”. DRC includes the countries of Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Central Africa Republic, South Sudan, Zambia, Angola, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda.

Suppliers are expected to adopt policies and management systems with respect to conflict minerals and to require their suppliers to adopt similar policies and systems. TransAct expects suppliers to establish their own due diligence program to ensure conflict-free supply chains.

In the event TransAct determines that a supplier’s efforts to comply with this Policy have been deficient and the supplier fails to cooperate in developing and implementing reasonable remedial steps, TransAct reserves the right to take appropriate actions up to and including discontinuing purchases from the supplier.

Under the definition of “DRC Conflict-Free,” products supplied to TransAct:

  1. Do not contain tantalum, tin, tungsten or gold (3TG) as elements necessary to their production or functionality, or,
  2.  If products supplied to TransAct do contain these minerals, the minerals must originate outside the DRC, come from scrap or recycled sources, or be supplied from smelters that have been validated by an independent private sector party to be conflict-free. Certified conflict-free smelters are validated as compliant to the EICC (Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition) conflict free smelter (CFS) protocol using the CFS Compliant Smelter List. Through the CFS protocol, smelters are audited globally; the list of compliant smelters and refiners is posted at
TransAct will survey direct suppliers as a part of our conflict minerals due diligence program. Suppliers are expected to respond to survey requests in a timely manner, and with full disclosure, following the specific instructions provided.

Where is the USB slot or SD card slot?

  1. Place your hands on either side of the screen
  2. Move your right hand up
  3. You will hit the lip of the access door
  4. Pull down to access the SD card slot or USB slot.

Having trouble following instructions provided to download menudata.xml to the USB stick from ACCESS MCD. (Help Setup)

  • Walk through menu load instruction documentation. (See above)
  • Usually, the step to "Extract ALL" is the problem.
    1. Click to highlight the MenuData.xml file.
    2. Select "Extract All" in the top menu
    3. Walk through extraction wizard
    4. Select USB port

Touch screen not working, or pressing not activating correct button.

  1. Power the printer off using the power switch on the left side of the printer
  2. Press and hold a finger to the touchscreen
  3. Power the printer on while holding a finger on the touchscreen
  4. This will force the printer into touchscreen calibration mode
  5. Touch the indicated locations on the screen to calibrate the printer
  6. You should now have a working touchscreen



Not printing or rolling labels out.

  • Reload tickets with printer on which should reposition and be ready to print.
  • Missing White Gear or White gear fell off.
    • Replace Print Mech.
    • If customer has second Print Mech, swap so they can be up and running while waiting for replacement.

How do I change the Printer Mechanism?

  1. Turn the power switch on the side of the terminal OFF as shown
  2. Grasp the sides of the display, and rotate it toward the rear of the terminal
  3. Rotate the display until it in a horizontal orientation
  4. Grasp the front terminal door with both hands, and pull it forward and down
  5. Rotate the door to the open position
  6. Lift and pull the printer mechanism carefully out of the terminal
  7. The printer mechanism is now removed



Printer powered on but getting error “Program.bin” file not found.

  1. Turn the power switch on the side of the terminal OFF.
  2. Take the SD card out.
  3. Blown with canned air.
  4. Place back in.
  5. Try again and see if this fixes.

Printer powered on but printer beeps and keeps resetting.

  • Replace SD card.
