TRANSACT TECHNOLOGIES’ PRINTREX DIVISION TO FEATURE MOBILE PRINTERS DESIGNED FOR FIRE AND RESCUE APPLICATIONS AT FDIC 2013
April 22, 2013
HAMDEN, CT. April 22, 2013 – TransAct Technologies Incorporated (NASDAQ: TACT), a global leader in market-specific solutions, including printers, terminals, software and other products for transaction-based and other industries, today announced that their Printrex division will showcase their printers specifically designed to withstand the demanding conditions of emergency mobile applications at the upcoming Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) annual conference. FDIC takes place April 22 – 27 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN.
Located in booth # 5363, the Printrex team will be on hand to demonstrate the advanced capabilities of their highly reliable Printrex 812 and Printrex 920 mobile printers.
The Printrex 812, which has been installed in fire fighting vehicles worldwide for the past 15 years, is an extremely rugged printer that has the capability of operating directly from either 12 volts DC or 24 volts DC. With both USB and IEEE 1284 (Centronics) interface, it can be mounted on either horizontal or vertical surfaces. In addition, it can be placed in the “suspend” mode during inactive periods to reduce the power demand on the vehicle battery, and automatically returns to active mode when printing is initiated.
The Printrex 920 is the first full-color printer plotter designed to withstand the rigors of mobile applications in emergency vehicles. Using Zink® Zero Ink, this printer prints in full color without the need for ink cartridges or ribbons. It is also capable of printing in black and white with the use of standard thermal paper. With very few moving parts to break down, wear out or get out of calibration, the Printrex 920 provides the reliability demanded in Fire, Ambulance and Police applications.
