TRANSACT TECHNOLOGIES TO SHOWCASE PRINTREX® PRINTERS AT EMS EXPO 2013
March 6, 2013
HAMDEN, CT., March 6, 2013 – TransAct Technologies Incorporated (NASDAQ: TACT), a global leader in market-specific solutions, including printers, terminals, software and other products for transaction-based and other industries, today announced that the Printrex® division will showcase their printers specifically designed to withstand the demanding conditions of mobile applications at the upcoming EMS Today Expo. This year’s Expo takes place March 7 – 9 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
Located in booth # 1249, the Printrex team will be on hand to demonstrate the capabilities of their highly reliable Printrex 812 and Printrex 920 mobile printers.
The Printrex® 812 is the perfect printer solution for vehicle based applications. Installed in fire fighting vehicles for the past 15 years, this rugged printer has the capability of operating directly from either 12 volts DC or 24 volts DC. With both USB and IEEE 1284 (Centronics) interface, it can be mounted on either horizontal or vertical surfaces. In addition, it can be placed in the “suspend” mode during inactive periods to reduce the power demand on the vehicle battery, and automatically returns to active mode when printing is initiated.
The Printrex® 920 is the first full-color printer plotter designed to withstand the rigors of mobile applications in emergency vehicles. Using Zink® Zero Ink media, this printer prints in full color without the need for ink cartridges or ribbons. It is also capable of printing in black and white with the use of standard thermal paper. With very few moving parts to break down, wear out or lose calibration, the Printrex 920 provides the reliability demanded in Fire, Ambulance and Police applications.
