Las Vegas Legends dedicate biggest home game to Sandy Hook Elementary School victim Allison Wyatt

LAS VEGAS – (January 10, 2013)– The Newtown Connecticut tragedy hit close to home for Las Vegas. TransAct Technologies Incorporated has their Global Casino, Gaming and Lottery offices in Las Vegas. The oldest daughter of TransAct Technologies Incorporated Vice President, Ben Wyatt, was killed in the senseless and horrific tragedy at the Sandy Hook Elementary School. The Las Vegas Legends want to show their support for the Wyatt family by dedicating the game on January 18, 2013 to Allison Wyatt.

The most decorated franchise in the sport of indoor soccer, the San Diego Sockers are coming to Las Vegas on their quest to make pro sports history with a 47-game winning streak and a fourth straight PASL championship. The 8-1 Legends hope to go down in history too, as the team that beat the San Diego dynasty at home and in a very special game.

Las Vegas Legends“We know how important this game is to our new franchise, the PASL Indoor Soccer League, and our fans,” said Meir Cohen, General Manager. “But we also knew we wanted to do something to help the Sandy Hook Elementary School victims, and when we were informed of the relationship Allison Wyatt and her father had to Las Vegas, we knew this was the game and the moment to honor Allison”.

Fifteen percent of proceeds from ticket sales, T-shirt sales, Ball-Toss and autographed Legends player jerseys will be donated to the Allison Wyatt Memorial Fund. This fund was established by the employees of TransAct Technologies Incorporated, and is for charitable contributions to be made in Allison’s honor. The fund is a donor-advised fund at Fidelity Charitable, an independent public charity.

“Our players will prepare for this game with intensity and “big game” players emotion,” said Greg
Howes, Head Coach. “Honoring this beautiful child, Allison, let’s us play with our hearts too. We hope our fans will come out and help us raise money for Allison’s memorial fund, and we have a great desire to win this game in her memory.”

Kick-off time is 7:00 PM at the Orleans Arena. The Master of Ceremonies will be City Councilman and Mayor Pro-tem Stavros Anthony, who will kick the first ball in the goal and present a proclamation declaring January 18, 2013 as Allison Wyatt Day in Las Vegas . In addition, Tyson Wrench, Western Regional Sales Manager and Tracey Chernay, VP of Sales and Marketing, from TransAct Technologies Incorporated will be there to represent Allison and her family.

The Legends head out-of-town on a two-game road trip to Arizona where they play Real Phoenix Saturday January 12 and Arizona Storm on Sunday January 13.
Las Vegas Legends play in the Southwest Division of the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) where they are currently in the lead at 8-1. The league has 4 divisions and 19 teams.
