BANKjet® 1500 Inkjet Receipt Printer and Validation Printer
Changing the Cash Drawer Harness:
First you must remove the Interface Card. To remove the Interface Card, do the following:
1. Turn over the printer. Take care not to allow the cover to open or the paper to fall.
2. Disconnect the current communications and cash drawer cables, as well as the power cord.

3. If equipped, unsnap the power supply retainer and slide out the power supply.

4. Disconnect the power supply from the interface card.

5. Remove the interface retaining screw.

6. Slide the interface card sideways-towards the power supply pocket-and remove it.

After you remove the Interface Card, if you look at the picture below, above the Communication Port you will see a black or blue piece with gold pins sticking up either on the left or right, or on both sides. This is the Cash Drawer Harness which can be set for Ithaca, Epson, or Star. In the picture below, the Cash Drawer Harness is currently set for Epson.

Note: If you have a USB Interface Card, and it looks like the picture below, click here for instructions on changing the Cash Drawer Harness on this.

If you remove the black or blue piece, you will be able to see all the pins like below.
Underneath those pins you will see Epson, Ithaca, and Star like below. Whatever position you place the black or blue piece on the pins, is what the Cash Drawer Harness will be set for.
Once you place the black or blue piece in the Ithaca, Epson, or Star position, you need to place the Interface Card back into the printer. To put the interface card back into the printer, do the following:
1. Slide the interface card into the printer. Make sure the interface card sits flush with the retaining screw mounting bracket. The retaining screw should also line up with the hole in the new interface card.

2. Install the retaining screw.

3. Reconnect the power supply to the new interface card.

4. Reinstall the power supply into the PowerPocket® and reattach the retainer.

5. Connect the communications cable, cash drawer cable, and power cord to the printer
